The Melbourne “Demons” Star Has Suffered A Series Of Brutal Injuries

Christian Petracca - the star of the Melbourne Demons

Melbourne Demons superstar Christian Petracca will be suspended indefinitely after scans confirmed multiple injuries, including a ruptured spleen, during a collision in his team’s King’s Birthday loss to Collingwood. It happened on June 10th.

Petracca, 28, was taken to hospital after the game following a marking contest late in the first quarter when Collingwood captain Darcy Moore at the MCG hit him in the ribs with his knee.

He was examined after a quarter of a half, given painkillers and then bravely returned to the pitch, but then the pain became unbearable.

Petracca was eventually replaced and taken to the hospital. Subsequent scans revealed that Petracca suffered four broken ribs, a ruptured spleen and a small punctured lung as a result of the incident. The midfielder underwent surgery Monday night and remains in the hospital for recovery.

He took to Instagram after the operation and thanked his fans for their “love and support”.

Demons soccer boss Alan Richardson emphasized that Petracca’s health is the main priority, not a return date.

“The next few weeks will be crucial and we will be monitoring his progress closely to make sure he recovers properly and fully,” he said. As he recovers, management will look at a timetable for his return to play.

He is an extremely important player for the team, but his health and recovery are the top priorities right now.

Unfortunately the AFL 2024 season is over for the athlete. But there’s a good chance we’ll see him next season. You might like the following article about Cody Simpson.
